Early Samsung Galaxy S9 leaks reveal iPhone copycat both in functions and marketing strategy.

Samsung Galaxy S9

Early reports revealed that the Galaxy S9 is set to be revealed at the upcoming January CES, hot on its successful release of the Galaxy S8. Next year flagship, the S9 is already in production and from what we could tell, it has adopted some of the latest iPhones most popular features, and marketing strategies. According to our sources, the Galaxy S9+ will be equipped with a dual-lens camera on the back and more RAM, while the Galaxy S9 will have to make do with single lens cam, just as Apple did with the launch with the iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus.  Samsung plans to equip the Galaxy S9 with iris and face recognition tools, according to a report at ET News. The report states that the firm is “developing software to increase the face recognition rate of the Galaxy S9 front iris recognition sensor.” These improvements come as Samsung looks to embrace Face ID, which Apple has been taunting for the past few months as secure than the fingerprint scan and the best face-scanning tech on the market nowadays.

For a tech company so young, launched in 2013, One Plus is rapidly making its marks. “We love nothing more than offering our community the latest and greatest technology and a user experience to beat expectations,” said OnePlus Founder and CEO Pete Lau. “Once again, we’ve worked hard to refine every last detail.”

The Shenzhen-based Chinese OnePlus announced on November 16, the release of the OnePlus 5T, its latest premium flagship device. The company said in a press statement, that ” OnePlus 5T is the company’s most competitive product to date, offering key hardware and software updates inspired by the active OnePlus community, including a higher resolution, 18:9 display, enhanced low-light camera performance, and numerous new software features.”

In various user tests, OnePlus 5T proved to be faster than the iPhone X in various performance tests; specifically, its Face Unlock facial recognition feature is reported to operate faster than the iPhone X’s Face ID. Faster doesn’t mean that it’s safer, but it also has been reported as a more fluid experience. And with a price range from $499, compared to $1,000 for the newest iPhone, it is sure to find its fan base.

UK Cyber spying experts investigate Uber hack amid fears MILLIONS could be targeted by fraudsters and hackers.

British investigators are looking into how many British Uber customers had personal information hacked during a mass data breach covered up by the taxi-hailing firm and discovered last week.

The Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO) warned Uber it faced “higher fines” for concealing details of the hack, which affected 57 million drivers and customers worldwide. The question is why isn’t the U.S. government looking into the San Francisco-based company and taking similar actions? The Uber breach, after all, affected users and drivers worldwide, including the U.S. and Canada.
