Smart displays are a cool and convenient way of holding your smart assistants upright with built-in speakers and stylish designs. Lenovo started selling their debut display last week for the Google Assistant and JBL has been trailing behind with a version of their own. On Wednesday, JBL, a company best known for manufacturingloudspeaker and associated electronics. announced their ‘Link View’ will now be available for pre-order for $250 and is expected to deliver at the beginning of September.
A New Look for Your Google Assistant
JBL’s smart display has a more oval appearance than its competitors but still comes with the necessary features. The customary greeting of “Hey Google” prompts the smart assistant to pay attention to your requests. Their HD screen stretches 8 inches and 10 watt audio monitors enable a powerful user experience. The Link View is compatible with Bluetooth and supported by Google Chromecast. Their 5MP front-facing camera is designed for live chats with a clear video quality.
Smart Displays are Getting Smarter than Ever Before
The display is also splash-proof so there’s no need to worry about keeping your devices within a close distance of showers, pools and kitchens. Additionally, their privacy mode shuts off the camera and mic of your Google Assistant so you’ll have peace of mind while conducting your personal acts of solitude.
How will JBL’s Smart Display Compare with Lenovo and LG?
Right now, Lenovo’s smart display is the only product on the market and we have yet to receive a release date for LG’s version. JBL plans to capitalize on the growing demand for smart displays and we’ll have a better idea on how the Link View pars up with competitors next month.
