Day 2 of the Ohana music festival went without a hitch, and Eddie Vedder did not disappoint, making guest appearances through the day and on festival grounds.

Plague Vendor opened the main stage with singer Brandon Blaine showing off his unique dancing skills to the early crowd, at one point, ripping his pants at the back. Eventually, it was ducked taped, and the show resumed.  Followed by the chill and smooth operating guitar playing from Bahamas. It was stacked day 2 with Johnny Marr, Liz Phair, the Yeah Yeah Yeahs, and Eddie Vedder closing.

There’s always been great music from Canada, and Canadian soft rockers Bahamas delighted the crowd with a chill out session during the mid-afternoon heat wave.

Eddie Vedder played nearly a 2-hour acoustic set closing out Day 2. It was truly a family affair as Eddie brought his mom, who was watching side stage and celebrating her birthday that day. In a heartfelt moment, Eddie paid tribute to the late Tom Petty by covering “I Won’t Back Down,” who gifted him with one of his electric guitars and brought out Scott Thurston, Tom Petty’s bandmate.  The set ended with an Indio cover, “Hard Sun,” and he brought out all the stops by bringing out guests Liz Phair, Johnny Marr, and Karen O and band, as well as a surprise appearance from a couple of mates from Mumford & Sons.

The Yeah Yeah Yeahs always put on a great performance, largely due to their animated singer Karen O.  Never shy to make her own fashion statements, Karen O spotted in a silver, decked out, track suit danced, sang her heart out, and slammed her mic to the stage floor before ending the set with a “Date with the Night.  The set consisted mostly of their excellent debut album, Fever to Tell, with such hits as “Y Control,” and their love song “Maps.”
